Hiking for Health

Death Valley - Winter 2014

The attributes we experience hiking are numerous. The obvious one is of course is exercise, but there’s much more to it than that.

Living in an RV allows us to stay for extended periods of time in one location. This gives us a chance to find little known hikes that wow us every time.

We hope to inspire you to get outdoors where ever you live and experience all the joys hiking can bring.

Here’s a list of what hiking does for us:

  • Exercise
  • Breath fresh air
  • Observe the miracles of nature in the diversity of trees, flowers and wildlife that can adapt to extremes of weather and terrains
  • Enjoy the change of seasons
  • Awaken our senses to smells, nature sounds, visual beauty, feel the rocks, dirt and gravel beneath our feet and an enhanced taste for the simplest lunch packed while overlooking all of nature’s beauty
  • Improved equilibrium
  • Forget our “gottas”
  • Think positive thoughts
  • Grateful for being able to hike at ages 74 & 79
  • Companionship with our spouse
  • Provide a budget way to have experiences not stuff

Please share your thoughts with us of what hiking does for you. Thank you, Barbara and Milton
